總冠軍賽第7戰，聖安東尼奧馬刺「石佛」Tim Duncan場上罕見動怒，根據《聖安東尼奧快遞新聞》報導，他賽後也對某間媒體的提問相當不悅。

當時Duncan被問到：「輸掉這場令人失望的比賽後，會不會考慮退休？」

Duncan回答：「我還有合約在身，我會回來。」

和他共事多年的隊友兼「麻吉」Tony Parker看不下去，直言批評：「我真不敢相信你問了這個問題，你們說我們『太老』已經5、6年了，現在我們不想回答這個問題。」

Duncan現年37歲，如果沒有提前宣布退休，這張合約將走到2014-15年結束，最後一年是球員選擇權。
