【大紀元2013年06月23日訊】(據民視新聞報導)由於天災重創聯外道路，加上少子化的因素，位在南投縣信義鄉，創校將近一甲子的神木國小，22日正式走入歷史，在這一場最後的畢業典禮上，不管是畢業生還是老師，都忍不住留下傷感的眼淚。

在這一場最後的畢業典禮上，神木村民眾都來觀禮，開場十分歡樂，校方依照慣例，在典禮上頒獎給2畢業生和3位在校生，預祝未來學習一切順利，隨即進行財產移交和併校儀式，之後由學弟妹和畢業生共同唱驪歌，這時同學和老師都忍不住相擁，留下傷感的眼淚。

敵不過少子化衝擊，加上屢遭山區土石流天災影響，南投縣政府決定，神木國小即將廢校，下學期併入同富國小，整場典禮之後，神木國小的校旗緩緩降下，建校55年，也宣告正式走入歷史。
