Rick Tsai, which served as CEO of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) during 2005-09, has been elected as an HTC board of director.
HTC has issued a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSCE) announcing the appointment of Tsai to its five-member board effective June 21. Tsai replaced Ho-Chen Tan, a former Chunghwa Telecom chairman, as a new director for the HTC board.
Tsai in mid-2009 stepped down as TSMC's CEO to lead the company's new business units. He is currently the chairman and CEO of two TSMC subsidies - TSMC Solar and TSMC Solid State Lighting.
